ASK-IT Pan-European Workshop Minutes

The first ASK-IT event took place on 13 th October 2005 in Stuttgart and took the form of a pan-European workshop. The workshop aimed to introduce ASK-IT to a wider audience, to present the work carried out so far within the project and to gain important feedback on important aspects before the development phase.

The workshop was split up in three main parts. The first session aimed to introduce the overall scope of the project, also inviting external speakers to reflect on the needs of mobility impaired people. The second part provided more detailed information about the project's objectives and expected results. Finally, the parallel sessions in the afternoon aimed to give targeted information to and obtain feedback from the different target groups of ASK-IT, from content and service providers to technical integrators and end users. The workshop was chaired by Dr. John Gill, Chief Scientist, Royal National Institute of the Blind. Both the afternoon before and after the end of the workshop, participants had the possibility to go on a technical tour. Throughout the whole event they could also visit the exhibition.
